I blame you.
Not because you left,
not because you started again,
found a new life, new reasons for living,
but, because,
you knew what the monster was,
you knew what lurked in the darkness
and the light,
hidden in plain sight,
what everyone around could see
but didn’t focus upon,
polite stares,
whispers, murmurs, hints,
it was all there,
a psychic schematic
drawn in cerebral ink.
I didn’t blame you,
but I do
now
A poem that explores the darker side of hidden secrets, and blame.
Even if the relationship survives, there’s loss when trust is broken. I feel your verse.
Thank you very much for commenting! Yes, I agree, it’s hard to overcome some things, even if love is truly there.
