Beach huts

Thirteen green wooden huts standing in a row,

Perched like elaborate egg boxes

On top of the pebbled beach below.

The sea lies, laid out flat to the horizon,

A grey-green mass of weed and tangled surf,

A solitary man walks to the skyline

His only companion a chocolate Labrador,

Who leaps and jumps through the waves

Joyfully wagging his tail.
